“Don’t ignore the critics.”
This week has been a bit of an emotional roller-coaster for me. I spent the final minutes finishing up my website in absolute tears because someone who I care about a lot made it clear that they just do not believe in me or my work and was trying to steer me in a different direction, a direction that does not lead to living my passion but away from it.
It was in that moment as I saw my days of hard work come together on my computer screen through my streaming tears that I realized how important it is for people to NOT believe in me.
I have always had a lot of support to follow my dreams and my passions in my life. I have had people question what I am doing but simply because they had no idea what I was up to and not because they didn’t think it could be done.
And then I had my AHA Moment and I could not be more thankful for the ‘naysayers’ and ‘doubters’ and ‘dream killers’ because it only fuelled my flame and pushed me further and higher than before.
I don’t believe our entire purpose needs to be spent proving others wrong, but I do believe that when people don’t believe in us it is even more reason to shine our lights as bright as possible and show them it can be done. It makes me sad to think that so many people are not living their dreams and pursing their passions just because they think it is a waste of time.
I will live my dream career to help heal and inspire people, to move people far beyond their own comfort zone just as I have, to help people find their own inner light and remove all of the shadows and darkness in the way, to help people transform their bodies and their lives to the very best version of themselves possible.
I can, and I will.

The measles pandemonium is high right now, understandably so.
The media has a way of striking fear into us right in the comfort of our own measles free homes.
It is an understandable fear as the repercussions include “death”.
I am not going to make light of the seriousness of this virus; however, due to a recent local incident where a man who was allegedly fully vaccinated still contracted measles I think it’s important to discuss alternative ways to also protect yourself, vaccinated or not.
This guy undoubtedly thought he was protected even knowing that 95% (not 100%) of people are immune once receiving the vaccination, I can’t imagine how he must feel.
What I do know is this, nothing we do is ever truly guaranteed. Whether we vaccinate or don’t vaccinate. Please also understand this is not a vaccination debate or post, it is merely a “booster” suggestion regardless of which way you swing.
With that said, knowing that you may be one of the 5%, or someone who cannot/does not vaccinate there are other ways to lessen your likelihood of contracting this yucky virus or supporting your system as best you can, should you fall ill to it.
Your immune system is your best line of defense.
With the amount of toxins in our air, water, food and thoughts it can really be a burden on our poor little guts.
Our healthy gut flora is what keeps our immune systems strong, when we run low or in a deficit of this flora we run the risk of many immune compromised disorders.
Step 1: Get gut flora in check.
HOW: Probiotics. My favourite way is in capsule form another option is through fermented foods such as apple cider vinegar, kimchi, sauerkraut & kombucha.
Step 2: Increase Antioxidants to fight the bad guys.
HOW: Dark leafy greens, dark berries, lots of fruits and veggies.
Step 3: Say GOODBYE to sugar.
HOW: If there is one thing screwing up your immune system and gut flora it is white, refined sugar, cut it out. Not only will this help your immune system it will help your skin, your energy & your mental health.
Step 4: Get rid of the toxins.
HOW: Drink more water. When you drink more water you allow your body to expel way more toxins through urine and feces. The less toxins in your body, the more capable your body is in fighting off other viruses.
Step 5: Eat More Anti-Viral Foods.
HOW: Ginger, Garlic, Oregano are the most common and my most favourite. Add these to your daily meals, salads, soups whatever it takes just get em into you!
Does this guarantee immunity from measles or any virus, bacteria or disease? Heck no!
But it sure does set you up with a good defense in the off chance you come in contact with this illness or any other.
Remember, the best defense is a good offense!!
